A charming Chinese bangle of bamboo and silver engraved with adorable little bats. The body of the bracelet is bamboo banded with a silver tube. The tube is engraved with elaborate patterns and a chubby bat at each end. This auspicious bangle will stack beautifully with silver bracelets. Circa 1920.

Chinese artists have long used five bats to represent the five blessings: health, long life, prosperity, love of virtue, and a tranquil, natural death.
